Mata Utara translates as ’Mother’s Descent’ in Hindi.  It is the descent of one’s sole identity; their own and that of the mother.  The descent into the abyss of the psyche; karma; deterioration and crystallization.  The longing to be in this world and the pull into the other.  Dedicated in memory of my mother Janine Ellison.

All songs written by Sataray except Yaman and Bhasma Anga, traditional East Indian songs arranged by Sataray.  All vocals and harmonium by Sataray, all other instrumentation by celadon.  Recorded, mixed and mastered by celadon.  Album art by Anima Nocturna.
